Gradual recovery: air traffic over Ukraine reached 70% of the pre-crisis level in July - In July 2021, UkSATSE provided air navigation services for 26,952 flights of Ukrainian and foreign airlines performed in the airspace of Ukraine. This represents 70% of the pre-crisis volume of flights for the corresponding period in 2019. A total of 109,472 flights have been provided with air navigation services since the beginning of the year.
ENAIRE managed 150,000 flights in July, only 32% fewer than in 2019 - ENAIRE managed nearly 150,000 flights in July (149,670), which is just 32.2% fewer than in the same month in 2019, the baseline year for data comparisons, since traffic in 2020 fell to minimal levels as a result of COVID-19.
FAA UPP2 research suggests high density BVLOS UTM operations possible but refinements needed - Unmanned airspace - FAA has announced the results of its UTM Pilot Program 2 set of trials and demonstrations. Key elements of emerging UTM capabilities that will support BVLOS operations were tested and although, in principle, current industry technologies for managing high density operations and strategic de-confliction were shown to be effective, there is still work to be done before they can support commercial operations.
