First off, there's interesting news from ENAV. They're aiming to move the approach function from towers so that the ACCs manage the relevant areas instead. The aim is to make coordinating between ACC and APP easier and less complex. It'll also release resources at the airport towers.
If you're curious to see what the future of aviation might look like, it's worth checking out the videos showcase for the UK Future Flight Community. With phase three of the £300 million challenge now live, you can see all the advancements that are in the works.
The rate of development in the unmanned aircraft space seems to be picking up. Recently, Xwing and Inmarasat joined forces to create a command and control solution for autonomous aviation. With Inmarasat's satellite communications experience and Xwing's experience with autonomous flight, they're well-placed to build something special.
There's positive news about the aviation sector in general as The Avionor Group reports that traffic at Avinor's airports increased by 12 percent in September compared to the previous month. The biggest uptick came from increases in international flights. We're pleased to see this continued growth!
Finally, we'd like to share another Radar Contact podcast. In this episode, we talk with Mariagrazia La Piscopia about the specifics of SESAR deployment.
