First up this week, it's big news for ENAIRE as their board of directors approved the Strategic Innovation Plan, one of the 11 plans that comprise the company's Strategic Plan, the 2025 Flight Plan. The Strategic Plan approved aims to invest in research, development and innovation (R&D) an annual average of more than 20 million euros for the period from 2021 to 2025.

 

Next up, over in India, Airports Authority of India has undertaken the
expansion work of Trichy Airport. This includes construction of a new integrated
passenger terminal building, a new Apron, Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower, and
upgradation of Air side facilities to cater for the growing passenger traffic and reduce
congestion during peak hours at the airport. 

 

In market news, Indra will digitise and upgrade the Sal Island oceanic air traffic control centre and control towers at Santiago, Boa Vista, São Vicente and Sal with state-of-the-art technology to bring air traffic management performance and safety to the highest level. This goal makes the project one of the most important for the future of air navigation in West Africa, given Cabo Verde's role as a gateway to the region.

 

Finally, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted the operational approval for the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai to use unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to support its daily operations after passing the operational requirements in accordance with civil aviation regulations, according to a report by Emirates News Agency.
