From what we've experienced so far in 2020, it would have been fair to say that nothing could surprise us anymore...but alas!
We turned our attention this week to the story of a professional drone operator who is being investigated for using false documents to request authorisation to fly over the city of Girona. The man in question falsely claimed police authorisation to fly over congested areas of the city. Article 44 of Royal Decree 1036/2017 permits professional flights in exceptional circumstances...but it was revealed that no police force had requested this extraordinary action. It shows that no matter what system is in place, there will always be some people that try to abuse it and take advantage of emergencies.
This week, we're pleased to highlight a new job opportunity, Product & Project Engineer Surveillance by skyguide. The Surveillance (SUR) Engineer mission is to provide engineering and project management competences and skills to lead lifecycle management and continuous improvements of surveillance products & equipment, support elaboration of concepts, studies and projects for internal and external customers.
